Great Color Stories are Made not Born

How, you may ask, can we plan an entire Fall buy in the heat of June? How can we picture what baubles will perfectly complement your cashmere scarf and over-the-knee boots when it's a blazing 95 degrees in the shade? Well my friends, that's half the fun!

And we get by with a little help from our friends as well. At the Vegas buys, Sydney Evan stylist, Nicole helped us put together color stories that would reflect the Fall's juicy eggplants and moody mauves QUITE nicely.

We mapped out warm and cool colors, using guide's like Refinery29's forecasting photos --

-- and decided on three completely different color stories using brand new beads from Sydney Evan's Collection. Peridot's Sydney Evan cases are sure to POP come August/September. We'd give you a sneak peak but now that wouldn't be any fun, would it? You'll just have to wait ;)

We're Bubbling Over with Jamie Joseph!

Of all of the designers in Vegas, again (AGAIN?!) Jamie Joseph's work gave us that I-Can't-Breath-I-Must-Have-One-NOW feeling. Peridot Buyers Dawn and Jessica Hendricks get a tad aggressive at the Jamie Joseph booth for two reasons, 1. We're New Yorkers, 2. Many of Jamie's pieces are one-of-a-kind's! HENCE, we snatch up in Vegas, they ship out immediately, and voila completely unique pieces appear in our boutiques within a week!

These pieces can not be re-ordered because Jamie has literally crafted the entire design around one unique stone, so make sure you come take a peek before another aggressive New Yorker gets there first!

The Fall Buys in Vegas -- Definitely a Wynn

Yes, there may have been 5 swimming pools, countless blackjack tables, and restaurants with the finest cut of toro sashimi in 100 miles BUT Peridot Buyers Dawn and Jessica Hendricks were NOT distracted (fooorrr the most part ;) ) they were booked solid with appointments with all of your favorite designers!

Highlights?

Jamie Joseph's Super Seven Pendant necklace -- the stone has 7 healing minerals...

Sydney Evan's new Mammoth bracelets -- a bunch of new styles (like a black gold spacer with champagne diamonds!)

Purchases from a new designer to Peridot: Nina Runsdorf's collection of STUNNING earrings -- silver + bathed in white gold + studded with diamonds = hugely glamorous look at impulse-purchase prices...

Peridot's "It Girl", Chan Luu

You know that girl who's always one step ahead of the curve? She's wearing next season's fashions yesterday and can pull off anything from pleather to crochet. She travels the world for inspiration (and I mean the whole world, from street style in Delhi to runway in Milan) and then comes home to Malibu to create original trends for stars (and, obviously, the rest of us) to just die for.

She's nothing short of an "It Girl" and at Peridot Fine Jewelry, our "It Girl" this spring (/always) is Chan Luu.

We fell in love with her basic leather wrap (shown below in Elle Magazine)...

But as is the duty of every "It Girl", Chan has switched it up this Spring, using stones, styles, cottons and leathers, brand new to the line. Yes we will always love our basic Chan wraps, but this Spring, take a hint from our gal pal Chan, and be a trend setter with a brand spankin new style!

Vegas Baby Vegas!

Jewelry shows happen in NY all year long, filling the Javits Center to capacity with the fashionistas of the universe buzzing around like maniacs, making buys that will dictate their biz for the season to come. And while we'll defend the big apple to the end, when it comes to the jewelry buys, come June, anyone who's anyone in the jewelry world will be in VEGAS and Peridot Fine Jewelry is (obviously) no exception.

Designers and Buyers flock to the glamorous Wynn to buy and sell and buy and sell (and gamble). A sparkly mayhem of diamonds and blackjack ensues and, by the end of week, we all leave (fingers crossed) having signed, sealed and delivered the decisions that will dictate next season's jewelry trends.

To market to market we go!
